Whether you’re serving in a Church or serving those God’s entrusted to you in your home, school, team, workplace, etc.…I would love to remind each of you of three key ingredients that the Apostle Peter lays out for Shepherds/Leaders in First Peter Chapter 5. I’ll underline the three below, but I’d love for each of you to take some time to reflect on these three and see which ones, if any, God would have you to improve on as you continue growing in Him and serving others. What is the reward for serving in such a way? See verse 4 below.
Practicing His Presence, Nate 1 Peter 5:1-5 (NKJV) The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.
