Pursuing God Each Day by Paula Bard

Ox Strong Women”, “No one could possibly be the same after the “Derecho/Covid Season.” Do you think you are better or bitter from what you’ve gone through?

Let me draw you back to the story of Adam and Eve. Eve used to have the best part of every day be her walk with God. Well, that was until she took her eyes off “pursuit of God” and on to living for today. Like Eve, do you feel like God is withholding good from you? Is your focus on “loss”, or “pursuit of God”? It’s through the hard times that we can reflect the image of God.

  • God didn’t want us to be “robots”. He gave Adam and Eve, and we as well, “free choice”, on what we pursue.
  • God is looking for women who understand that He, the Creator God, has a unique plan for each individual. You are not a carbon copy. You are unique. Never will you be fulfilled in life, seeking “your own pursuit”. What we’ve looked to, can be gone in a minute. But, He can turn losses into gain.
Let me share my favorite lifetime story of a friend’s friend. This friend was a young mom left with five children under the age of 12, when her husband suddenly died. How could she do it? The burden was heavy, but she immediately acknowledged it could only be done by God’s help. She knew how difficult it would be to work full-time and run the home and meet the needs of each individual child. Her hope was in God. She knew His grace was sufficient. Understanding the difficulty, she gathered the children together every single morning before any part of their day, even breakfast. Each child prayed giving their needs for the day and asking God for help. Then, Mom looked to God for total dependency as she gave her day to God. She made the children aware that God alone was sufficient. That home brought such glory to God. Isn’t that what our objective in life should be, “to give glory to God”! Whatever you are facing, you can allow Jesus to be seen through you!”
