Real Dudes,
I watched this video not too long ago (see the link below). Absolutely worth my time. Something was pointed out that I think we can all work to improve on in our lives and in our churches. In this video Jelly Roll explains how the church left a bad taste in his mouth from a very young age. At about the 10:56 mark, Jelly was asked, “What could the church have done better to 14 year old Jelly Roll?...What did we get wrong? What did we miss? How can we get it right?” Jelly replied with this answer, “The biggest thing…I think [would have to be] patience…give them grace, meet them where they are, because that’s what the Word does. The Word meets us exactly where we are, all we got to do is open it and He’ll do the rest.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A0Fk7hf4cw Are you allowing Him to do the rest? 2 Peter 3:9 (NASB) The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. Ephesians 4:2 (NLT) Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Men...is patience something that you know you need to work on? If so, then take some time to ask the Lord to help you in this area. And ask an accountability partner to keep you in check as well. Having enough self-control to implement patience will provide multiple rewards and friendships. Let’s all work on being patient towards others, as He is proven to be patient with us over and over again. Practicing His Presence, Nate
