Real Dudes,
I know I’ve touched on the topic of patience before, but much like repeated themes throughout scripture, I too want to take the time to touch on this subject once again. In 1 Timothy 1:16 the Apostle Paul speaks from personal experience by stating that, “Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner [the worst of sinners] Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.” (NASB). Men, what Paul is driving home for us is this – Christ is the perfect example of displaying a perfect patience towards an imperfect people. The Apostle Paul also reminds us in Romans 2:11 that “God does not show favoritism.” (NLT). Therefore, if Christ can treat the worst of sinners in such a way, and if Christ never shows favoritism, then may it reassure us that He too will be patient with each of us throughout our time here on this earth. And if He set the example of being patient with each of us, then my challenge to all of us is that we too would be patient towards each other. Are you feeling like you’re too far gone? Remember, Christ is patient with you. Are you impatient with other people? Remember the example that Christ set before you. Hope this is a timely reminder for each of us. Practicing His Presence, Nate
